Non-invasive Face Lifts - Options : a Review

I'm sure I'm not the only fifty-something woman who stresses about wrinkles and sagging skin..

I'm too scared to go 'under the knife', so I'm always looking for a non-invasive facelift. The first non-surgical facelift I tried was CACI. You may have heard of it, as it's been around for a long time. It uses microcurrents. I tried CACI ten years ago but could hardly see any improvement at the end, much to my disappointment.

The silly thing is, once I looked into it,CACI doesn't exercise sagging face muscles or treat wrinkles at all. Scientific trials have proved it improves circulation and boosts elastin and collagen, nothing more.

After that, I gave up searching for non-invasive facelifts, until I started seeing ads for the “Sixty Minute Facelift”. Thermage uses radiofrequency. It's a one-hour treatment, and there’s no downtime. Perfect, I thought!

Then I Googled 'Thermage' and found forums full of women who'd been left with permanent dents and dimples in their skin after the treatment! Apparently, Thermage works by stimulating your body's own natural collagen. The doctor has no control over how evenly it grows. That's why some women develop areas where it grows too much (lumps), or where it doesn't (hollows). If that happens, the only way to correct it is plastic surgery.

Next, I considered IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), but changed my mind when I enquired at one salon and was told that although they had an IPL machine, they didn't use it for photorejuvenation. They said only medically qualified staff can administer IPL for skin rejuvenation, because of the risks of using the machine on very high settings. That word 'risk' was enough for me!

Finally, I looked into phototherapy – and there, I hit paydirt! I researched the Omnilux treatment and couldn't find a single negative review – or any side effects. I couldn't find an Omnilux salon so I settled for the Rejuvalight treatment instead, which is the same treatment by a different supplier. You can read more about my phototherapy treatment here.
